Two Months Too Cute

Hello Owen Lovers!

Today he is two months old! We can hardly believe it... how time flies.
He had his check-up with the Doc today to mark the occasion. He also got an unpleasant present of four shots... the first of many immunizations. Mommy cried right along with him. Poor little guy - those needles hurt! But he was a champ and did pretty well, all things considered.

So the big excitement around the Dr. appt. in our house was about his weight.

Drum roll please.......

A WHOPPING 11 lbs. 13oz !!

Way to go Little Dude! That means that he has gained 4 lbs in 6 weeks. He's also grown 2 inches. And all in all, he's healthy and thriving. That's all we can hope for.

Lil' Dude is seven weeks old. He's starting to relax his limbs a bit more (no longer bunched up in that "frog-like" position all the time) and can focus on items up to 12 ft away.

Our favorite development is the fact that he smiles voluntarily now... not just when he passes gas. First thing in the morning (after eating, of course) and in the late afternoon are his awake times, and there's always a good possibility that he'll give you a huge smile.

His face lights up... he coos...

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Our household is very grateful this year. We have the perfect little family.

This year we celebrated with Auntie A, Uncle S, Nora and Nonna. We decided to spare a turkey and have a ham (plus all the traditional sides AND a lasagna!).

We even had a special side dish to go along with everything....

Cousin Nora just loves to give kisses. She kisses Owen's blankets, clothes and head.
The day before Thanksgiving she really planted one on him!

Owen, meet Penny. Penny, meet Owen.

Penny has been great with the addition of another baby in the house. She is (for the most part) respectful of his things, gives him kisses and rolls her eyes when he cries at 3am.

We think they'll be great friends.

Strong Like Bull

Owen is five weeks old today! According to the "manual" he should be able to lift his head and hold it up for a few seconds by now. Shoot - he did this pretty much when he was born. As Grandpa would say... "He's strong like bull".



He loves this mat. He especially loves the little robot from his Auntie A that is hanging from one of the bars. Whenever we put him in front of Robot he gets the biggest smile on his face - everytime!

Visit from the Cousins

We had a visit today from Nic and Super T! It was great to hang out with them both...

Super T was all about holding Owen.
Look how sweet...



And Nic gave Penny some much needed attention...

4 Weeks - But not yet 1 Month...

As of this morning at 9:38am Lil'Dude is 4 weeks old... but he's got 3 days to go until he's one month old.
What's up with that?

Regardless, we just can't comprehend where the time went!

Here's the stats:

-Eating: WELL. Out of the box, the boy loves to suck. He's been steadily gaining weight since we brought him home.

-Sleeping: PRETTY WELL. He wakes up a couple times a night, but eats and pretty much goes right back to sleep. He's not fond of sleeping alone... we have a bassinet next to the bed, but he spends more time in our bed than in it. We're working on that.

-Pooping: (not that you asked) VERY WELL. All systems "Go" in that department. We've had a couple of epic "Blow Outs"... very exciting!

-Smiling: Today was the first day that he looked at Mommy and deliberately smiled back... awww, shucks!

-Cuteness: You decide for yourself!
