Chompers!

Guess who has his first tooth?!

Mr. Drooly Man - that's who!

Boy, we've been really wondering what in the heck was up with all that drool... at our last appointment we even asked the Doc, and he told us that his saliva glands must be kicking in. Sheesh. Saliva glands? Um, right.

Saturday afternoon we changed his shirt two times due to the copious amounts of wetness that had soaked the upper third of said shirts. Then we thought to ourselves, "Hmmm... we wonder...." and when we stuck our finger in - EUREKA! There was a tooth poking out! The bottom left chomper has made it's debut, and we think that the right one will soon be making an appearance as well.

Poor little guy! No wonder he hasn't been sleeping all that well. Throws the whole "four month sleep regression" thing out the window for us - shows what they know (wink wink)!

Four Month Stats

Hello Again!

Thanks for your patience... we've had a busy weekend and have had our hands full with the adverse reaction to the shots that The Dude was given at his appointment on Friday afternoon. Not to worry - all is well (sort-of... but more on that later).

So - here are the latest stats straight from the Dr's office:

Weight: 13 lbs., 10 oz (Our guesses were WAY off on this one... we thought he was at least over 14 lbs. He tricked us!)

Height: 24 3/4" (That's a two inch gain...)

Eye Color: Mostly blue, but showing more brown/hazel flecks... he may get his Papa's eyes after all.

Sleeping: Ok, so here's the "sort-of" from above. We've hit the four month mark - and WHAMMO! "They" warned us that this would happen... we've entered into the "Four Month Sleep Regression". The Doc told us that we shouldn't brag about his sleeping because it could change at any moment, and low and behold, it started that night. The Dude had been sleeping from 7pm to 6:30am (or there abouts) pretty consistently for the last 6 weeks. Starting on Friday night, however, he is now waking up at least once. And he's hungry. The icing on the cake is that he doesn't want to go back to sleep... he wants to party! But if he does go back to sleep, he wants Mommy to hold him. Put him down ever so gently, and BLING - the eyes fly wide open. We start all over.
At first we thought it was the shots. He had a low-grade fever for a day or so and was all around feeling crappy, so we understood.
"This too shall pass", says Them.

Oh, and we promised you some tasty info on his newest developments! (We are still trying to figure out the whole video thing - once we do, we promise to share 'cause he's doing some cool stuff!)

He's figured out that if he pushes his feet (on anything that is stationary) he can twist his body. If he's on the floor, that means twisting onto his side (rolling over is near)... if he's in the bath tub, that means standing up... if he's on his changing table, that means almost flipping over so it makes it really hard to put the new diaper on! He is very proud of himself and will arch his back whenever he gets the chance. "Wiggly Monster" has been our newest addition to the nickname list.

The Doc said to wait another month on solids, and we'll take his advice. He wants Lil'Dude to gain more interest in the whole eating thing. He already watches us very intently when we are eating, and moves his tongue in and out... but we're in no hurry. Next month we'll start him on some cereal to see how he does. THAT will be a video moment.

Despite the copious amounts of drool we've had of late, no teeth. Just the saliva glands kicking in.

Other than that, all is well with The Dude. He is still exuding "Dude-ness" and making us all fall more in love with him.

Now if we can just make it thru the whole sleeping thing....

Stay Tuned....

As of Sunday, Lil'Dude is 4 months old! We were scheduled for his four month check-up appointment yesterday, but arrived at the Doc's office to find him out sick for the day. We've rescheduled for Friday.

So alas, we have no stats! And The Dude has escaped the needle (he's due for more shots) for at least a couple of days...

We'll be back soon with more photos, the latest stats and the juicy details as to his newest developments!

For now, we leave you with the sweetest photo of our growing boy - courtesy of the Lovely Auntie A.

Ready for Takeoff

Oh joyous day! The UPS man delivered The Dude's new high chair yesterday...

Isn't it cool? It has a pneumatic lift (like a barber's chair), wheels, and a tray that can go in the dishwasher. We like it because it's super easy to clean (no crevasses for crumbs to hide)and so stylish... if we're going to be looking at it for the next few years (he can use it up until he's 3 or so) we wanted something that wouldn't drive us nuts.

HUGE thanks to Grandpa & GranDonna for helping to make it happen!!

We LOVE it!

*Ed. Note: The high chair is NOT ELECTRIC. The cord that you see in the photos is actually to the sewing machine on the table. Can you imagine? An electric high chair? You know that if there was one, we would have it... but until then - we get pneumatic lift!

The Wondersuit

GrandPoppy and AmandaGram sent The Dude his first Wondersuit for Christmas. It fits him perfectly, and thank goodness we tried it on him now(we thought it still looked big) because in another two to three weeks it won't anymore.

So for the next couple of weeks, The Dude will be chillin' in The Wondersuit*.

*Papa's not so fond of tye-dye. Momma, however, thinks it's the bees knees. There was a time in her former life that that was all the rage. Therefore, the kid wears the suit. Just look how happy he is!

Goodbye Favorite Outfit

This is a sad day... the last time Owen will wear Mamma's current favorite outfit. It's just too darn small (notice the non-intentional cropped sleeves). In another week he'd be bustin' out of it like The Hulk.

Oh well.... guess we'll put it away for one of the up & coming babies (not us! don't freak).
