Four Month Stats

Hello Again!

Thanks for your patience... we've had a busy weekend and have had our hands full with the adverse reaction to the shots that The Dude was given at his appointment on Friday afternoon. Not to worry - all is well (sort-of... but more on that later).

So - here are the latest stats straight from the Dr's office:

Weight: 13 lbs., 10 oz (Our guesses were WAY off on this one... we thought he was at least over 14 lbs. He tricked us!)

Height: 24 3/4" (That's a two inch gain...)

Eye Color: Mostly blue, but showing more brown/hazel flecks... he may get his Papa's eyes after all.

Sleeping: Ok, so here's the "sort-of" from above. We've hit the four month mark - and WHAMMO! "They" warned us that this would happen... we've entered into the "Four Month Sleep Regression". The Doc told us that we shouldn't brag about his sleeping because it could change at any moment, and low and behold, it started that night. The Dude had been sleeping from 7pm to 6:30am (or there abouts) pretty consistently for the last 6 weeks. Starting on Friday night, however, he is now waking up at least once. And he's hungry. The icing on the cake is that he doesn't want to go back to sleep... he wants to party! But if he does go back to sleep, he wants Mommy to hold him. Put him down ever so gently, and BLING - the eyes fly wide open. We start all over.
At first we thought it was the shots. He had a low-grade fever for a day or so and was all around feeling crappy, so we understood.
"This too shall pass", says Them.

Oh, and we promised you some tasty info on his newest developments! (We are still trying to figure out the whole video thing - once we do, we promise to share 'cause he's doing some cool stuff!)

He's figured out that if he pushes his feet (on anything that is stationary) he can twist his body. If he's on the floor, that means twisting onto his side (rolling over is near)... if he's in the bath tub, that means standing up... if he's on his changing table, that means almost flipping over so it makes it really hard to put the new diaper on! He is very proud of himself and will arch his back whenever he gets the chance. "Wiggly Monster" has been our newest addition to the nickname list.

The Doc said to wait another month on solids, and we'll take his advice. He wants Lil'Dude to gain more interest in the whole eating thing. He already watches us very intently when we are eating, and moves his tongue in and out... but we're in no hurry. Next month we'll start him on some cereal to see how he does. THAT will be a video moment.

Despite the copious amounts of drool we've had of late, no teeth. Just the saliva glands kicking in.

Other than that, all is well with The Dude. He is still exuding "Dude-ness" and making us all fall more in love with him.

Now if we can just make it thru the whole sleeping thing....
